Our Mission

SoBo Central is a nonprofit organization that supports programs that help make
South Berwick a vibrant and caring commun
ity.
We are a  non-profit based in South Berwick, Maine. SoBo Central was formed in 2009 to bring together citizens committed to a healthy, vibrant town. The organization provides an umbrella for groups putting on concerts, running the ski hill, nurturing our downtown, providing fuel and food for those in need and working to keep our town healthy - environmentally, socially and economically. We invite all residents and business people to join us for any and all of our events and programs. Follow us on Facebook SoBo Central

SoBo Cares 2022 Holiday Giving

Picture
For the past few years, SoBo Cares has reached out to community members to help those in need during the holiday season. Your generosity has been amazing! Each year the South Berwick community has helped make the holiday season better for between eleven and fifteen of our families and up to thirty five of our children. The family of any Central School student can receive help by contacting Sheila Cleary, Central’s School Counselor at sheila.cleary@rsu35.org or at 384-2333.

SoBo Cares Holiday Giving This year we are once again collecting gift cards and distributing them to families needing assistance during the
winter holiday season. Our goal is to collect gift cards by December 2, 2022 in order to give families plenty of time to shop for gifts. If you would like to donate, please sign up on our Sign-Up Genius so that we have a variety of gift cards to give to families.

Here is the link to the Signup Genius:

Please drop off gift cards at Central or mail them to Central School, 197 Main St. by December 2, 2022.

Thanks for your generosity!

Home for the Holidays
Friday, December 2, 5-8pm

Planning is underway for the 17th annual Home for the Holidays downtown stroll. SoBo Central, our community non-profit, puts on this event to appreciate what it means to have a thriving downtown with stores, town hall, schools, and a library - our social and economic center.

This event brings thousands into downtown South Berwick. We look forward to sharing an evening with you full of lights, treats, and seasonal festivities on Friday, December 2, between 5-8 pm.

We're looking forward to you participating in our downtown block party for this year's "Light the Night" stroll.
