Sobo Central is proud to support the Great Works Bridge project, a grassroots community effort to build a covered, timber–frame pedestrian bridge to span the Great Works River at Vine Street.

By replacing the existing condemned bridge, this structure will reconnect our community, forge a link between our proud history and our bright future, and create a scenic landmark for South Berwick and the region.

This vision can only become a reality with the help of many hands and hearts. We encourage all residents and businesses in South Berwick and beyond to join this effort. There are ways to participate—from becoming a contributor to rolling up your sleeves.

Give today

Your generous contribution can help transform our vision of the Great Works Bridge into a reality that all of South Berwick's residents and visitors can enjoy for generations to come. The new bridge is estimated to cost $1,000,000. Our goal is to raise $600,000 in private funding. Meeting this goal will make us eligible for up to $400,000 from Maine's Bicycle and Pedestrian Program Funding Program. “I tend to think of songs as the whiskey of writing. Distilled down to the essence, powerful, concentrated, immediate. You can take it all in and really feel it in just seconds.”
Come on down and sample some of Slaid’s famous “whiskey” on Friday, October 5th at 8:00 at Sue’s Space in the Lower Mill (3 Front Street, Suite B789, Rollinsford, NH) Refreshments and beverages will be available.
